Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about gravimetric feeding, belt conveyors, and load cell hoppers for dry bulk mineral handling.

What is the typical accuracy of the GF-200 gravimetric feeder?

The GF-200 maintains a mass flow accuracy of ±0.5% of setpoint under steady-state conditions. This is achieved through dual load cells and a PID controller that adjusts the auger speed in real time. Accuracy may vary slightly with material density changes, but the system auto-compensates within two to three seconds.

Can the HBC-500 belt conveyor handle abrasive materials like crushed stone?

Yes. The HBC-500 is built with a chevron-pattern belt and vulcanized splices to resist wear from sand, gravel, and crushed minerals. Impact idlers at loading zones reduce belt damage, and the sealed gearmotor prevents dust ingress. For extremely abrasive feeds, we recommend an optional rubber liner at the loading point.

How do I calibrate the load cell hopper LCH-1000?

Calibration is done via the digital weight transmitter using either the front-panel buttons or a remote Modbus command. You can perform a zero calibration with an empty hopper and a span calibration using certified test weights. The transmitter stores up to five calibration sets for different materials.

What communication protocols do your systems support?

Our gravimetric feeders and load cell hoppers support Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and Ethernet/IP. The belt conveyor can be integrated via discrete I/O or optional Profibus. All systems can be linked to a central PLC for coordinated line control.

What maintenance is required for the GF-200 feeder?

Routine maintenance includes weekly inspection of the auger for material buildup, monthly load cell zero checks, and quarterly cleaning of the hopper interior. The gearbox should be lubricated every 500 operating hours. A full maintenance guide is included with each unit.

Do you provide on-site commissioning and training?

Yes. We offer on-site commissioning for all systems, including calibration, integration with existing controls, and operator training. Remote support via video call is also available for troubleshooting and minor adjustments. Contact our service team for scheduling.

Why Larderandco

Built for mass balance, not just material flow

Our gravimetric feeders, belt conveyors, and load cell hoppers are engineered for dry bulk mineral lines where accuracy and stability define throughput quality. We focus on the mass balance loop — from hopper weighing to conveyor discharge — with real-time PID control and ±0.5% accuracy that holds under vibration, dust, and continuous duty.
Gravimetric precision vs volumetric guesswork

Volumetric feeders drift with bulk density changes. Our GF-200 series uses dual load cells and closed-loop auger speed control to maintain setpoint mass flow regardless of material compaction or moisture variation. The result is repeatable dosing for cement, minerals, and chemical blends.

Conveyors that survive abrasive bulk

Standard belt conveyors fail under sand, gravel, and crushed minerals — belt tracking drifts, idlers seize, and gearboxes ingest dust. The HBC-500 uses chevron-pattern vulcanized belts, sealed gearmotors, and impact idlers at every loading zone. It handles inclines up to 20° without material rollback and integrates with upstream feeders for continuous operation.

Load cell hoppers with industrial-grade signal integrity

Many weighing systems lose accuracy due to mechanical binding or electrical noise. Our LCH-1000 series uses three-point hermetically sealed load cells with digital weight transmitters outputting via Ethernet/IP or 4-20 mA. Capacities from 500 kg to 5000 kg with 0.1% full-scale accuracy — no drift, no re-zeroing every shift.

Trusted by process engineers in mineral processing

We have supplied gravimetric feeding lines to cement plants, mineral blending facilities, and chemical processors across India. Our systems run 24/7 with remote calibration and Modbus data logging. When mass balance is critical, engineers choose Larderandco for repeatable results and minimal downtime.
